How the engine worked it out

  • Frame 23'-11 1/2" × 9'-11 1/2". The frame is 1/2" smaller than the 24'-0" × 10'-0" opening each way, leaving a 1/4" sealant joint all round.

  • 3 bays each side of the door. Meridian 450 with standard glass takes lites up to 5'-0" wide, 8'-0" tall and 30 sq ft. At 6'-10" tall, 30 sq ft caps the width at 4'-4 11/16". 2 bays would make each lite 4'-11 7/8" wide, so the engine uses 3 at 3'-3 1/4".

  • 7 lites need safety glazing. in a door (1), within 2'-0" of the door (2), over 9 sq ft and near the floor (4). These are tempered and marked T on the elevation. The check is a simplified version of the building-code hazardous-location rules.

Lite schedule

One row per lite, numbered like the tags on the elevation. Glass sizes are the daylight opening plus a 1/2″ bite on every edge, cut down to the 1/16″.
